No sign of Madryn Glossy Ibis. Colour ringed Little Egrets.

I staked out Morfa Madryn this morning for the Glossy Ibis that was seen there last week and yesterday morning. No luck. But a few interesting bits and pieces. Waders were well represented with a Greenshank, 50+ Bar tailed Godwits, 150+ Knot and 20+ Lapwing. 15 Little Egrets were present including two colour ringed birds - presumably part of the Penrhyn ringing scheme. A Peregrine hunted the Redshanks along the foreshore while 20+ Sandwich Terns patrolled the straits along with a similar number of Gannets. Eight Stock Doves fed in the ploughed field at the back. The only migrants was a single Wheatear on the foreshore - can't imagine I missed much up the Orme today (you watch someone prove me wrong!).

One of two colour ringed Little Egrets present at Madryn today- yellow and white rings with letter codes are the Penrhyn scheme I think. Looking forward to find the bird's hostory.
