Burton Mere Wetlands

Managed to catch up with the glossy ibis at Burton Mere Wetlands this morning. Viewed from halfway along the path from the reception hide to the covert hide it was first seen in flight for 3 to 4 minutes (crossing the border into Wales for a Welsh tick!) and then later seen for a couple of minutes on the deck walking along a pool among the greylag geese in the tall vegetation. A nice bonus were 7 white fronted geese infront of the reception centre hide. Raptors seen were a smart male hen harrier as well as a ringtail harrier, peregrine and sprawk. Two whooper swans flew across towards Shotwick fields. Siskins and lesser redpoll were in the alders along the woodland path.
